Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes Season 2 premiere (2012) TV series

Plot Synopsis:  Doom shows up like a baller and starts taking down chumps.

The Good:

-The cold opening where we get a rundown of all the Avengers, their powers and a... “threat level”?, alright whatever.  The rundown let’s everyone starting with this episode know what’s what and who’s who.

-Hulk and Things relationship is awesome.  Hulk is always on the edge with Thing and they fight at the drop of a hat.

-“What am I?  The butler?” with no physical Jarvis someone has to be.

-Tony Starks constant flirting with Sue Storm.

-Tony and Wasp’s differing opinions on what Asgard is.

-Captain America not really knowing who everyone is.

-“I can think of 14 different ways I can seal you in that armor forever.”

-Iron Man taking out Doombots.

-Hulk using Ben Grimm as a cudgel, now that’s what I call a Marvel team-up.

-This is exactly how Doom should be.

-The difference in how the 2 teams handle the exploding Doombot threat.

-Doom casually works as his lab get’s assaulted.

-Doom goes toe to toe with the Hulk.

-Doom start’s awhoopin’ erebodies ass.

The Bad:

-I hate the opening theme.  I like the song but I hate the voice over narrating who a few of the Avengers are (Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Captain America, what about all the rest?)

-How can a disembodied hand throw something?

-They give Iron Man’s mask facial expressions.  They’re subtle but annoying.

The Ugly:

-The animation get’s weird/sloppy in the mansion fight with the Doombots, especially around Johnny Storm.

-Captain America doesn’t hold his own at all and what few scenes he’s jumping around in look stilted and sloppy.

-Animation is spotty for some reason, some things are animated really well and others really aren’t.

Final Thoughts:  A pretty strong opening.  A good showing of the Fantastic Four, good follow up to the last episode of last season, strong characterization.  It’s been awhile since I’ve seen season one but I remember the animation being a little spotty in that too, it’s not a deal killer but when you have someone who notices disappearing/reappearing earrings and magic teleporting cigarettes obviously I’m going to notice this kind of thing more so than your average person.  But all in all everything else is so good that any bad stuff is easily forgivable.
